Hair loss !!!!!!!!!!!?

Sorry to read about your problem. It can be very distressing at your age.

Without knowing your medical history and lifestyle it's difficult to give a definitive answer.

We lose on average 50 to 100 hairs a day. Some people lose less, some a little more.

Hair Loss has many causes. The main culprit for males is "Male Patern Baldness" (MPB), which is a general predisposition caused by genetics, a particular enzyme and a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (internet search this word for more).

MPB can start in your teens but this is unusual.

Other factors for men, to a greater or lesser extent, are:

Alopecia Areata

poor nutrition

rapid weight reduction

smoking

illness

surgery

certain medications/drugs

harsh chemical dyes

general hair mis-treatment

constant stress, recent major life events

allergic reaction to shampoo, gels, dyes etc

At your age and judging only from what you have said, it sounds as if your perceived hair problem is due to your weight loss. Especially if it was rapid weight reduction and the hair loss happened around the same time. Also if the hair loss is a general thinning and you are not losing it at the crown, forehead or temples - this would point towards the weight loss again.

Stocking up on Vitamins may not be the answer as you can "overdose" on these with the result of more hair loss!

But as you asked, the following are considered to play key roles in hair growth and maintenance, but seek guidance if going down this route:

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-6 fatty acid Gamma-Linolenic acid

Vitamin A,

Vitamin B-6

Vitamin B-12

Vitamin C

Vitamin E

Biotin

Protein

Magnesium

Copper

Iron

Zinc

Water

Folic acid

Inositol

The key to hair loss is to find out what the underlying reason is, and to then evaluate your options in dealing with it.

I have presumed you do not have any other symptoms when providing this answer

Can I suggest you go to your doctor or specialist to diagnose any condition.

Good Luck with your finals

Hair loss !!!!!!!!!!!?

well, it is almost certainly because of the weight loss..... stabilise your eating habits.. and eat alot of nuts and seeds.......they have lots of goodness for growing glossy healthy hair.... sesame seeds are good...

You'd better reduce the vitamins...and aside from genetic issues, you might be suffering from "Hypervitaminosis A" - you are taking way too much Vitamin A! If you are already eating a health diet you don't need to megavitamins.

You very well might be stressed out and you need techniques to deal with STRESS. The tone of your message with the "!!!!!!!" indicates stress, so you need to balance things - one way to relieve stress is physical exercise. I can't go into an entire regimen here but if the above site doesn't help, you might need to consult a doctor for other physical problems regarding your issue.

I had a good friend in high school that started going bald at your age, (it was GENETIC) and he eventually just shaved his head and went with it. I know that is no consolation but if it's genetic there is nothing you can do.

It is better to get it checked. Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

Hair loss !!!!!!!!!!!?

There are lots of reaons for hair loss.

We all lose hair everyday, we sometimes

don't notice.

Your weight loss could have played a role

in triggering more hair loss. Did you maintain

a healthy diet? Also, if you are dehydrated

and not getting enough liquids, you might

lose some hair...but not a lot usually.

100 hairs is not a lot to lose...sounds normal.

Try to get your stress level down.

That always helps.

Good luck on your finals.

That sucks, that reaching one goal is causing you aother problem. I am in medical school and can tell you with confidence that in the process of losing weight you probably cut certain things out of your diet that are essential to keeping you hair strong (minerals, protein) and thats why its falling. You need to intervene and fast. It is a fact that the following WILL grow anyone's hair and fast= moisture and the correct blend of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. I had thick strong hair until like an idiot I tried to put in a color that was clearly to harsh for my hair. It destroyed it and inches fell :( My hair dresser told me to go to www.horizonshaircare.com The hair vitamins I bought there can only be described as amazing. You will see all the new growth coming in within the first few weeks, and there is just no other oil, or home concotion that can do that for you. Go to the site and you will get that growth and fast! I'm hoping for another 3-4 inches this months. Do you mind me asking if you could send me an email at newdiet06@yahoo.com and let me know how you managed to lose all that weight? We can help eachother!

Hair loss !!!!!!!!!!!?

Research has confirmed the role of zinc has a vital nutrient in the healthy growth of hair. Zinc is an important element in the management of stress when it is mobilized in stress as it is an important constituent of many vital enzymes required for normal body functions.

In terms of hair, nails and skin, it helps in the synthesis of various proteins, which subsequently facilitate growth and maintenance. So any deficiency in the levels of zinc in the body will directly result in impaired growth and damage to these body parts.
