My dog is starting to get these really bad scabs all over his body causing him to lose hair, wht does he have?
He could have fleas or mites. Buy some Sevin Dust available in the garden section of Walmart, Kmart and plant nurseries. It is made of dried chrysanthemum flowers and won't hurt him.
Bathe then dust him thoroughly as well as sprinkle throughout your home as you would Carpet Fresh. Leave it on the carpets overnight then vacuum it up. Repeat again in several days and as often as necessary. Hopefully your dog will quit itching!

your dog has a dry skin problem... His skin gets dry, he scratches himself and causes scabs and loses hair.. not to worry you have to buy a better shampoo for your dog..
This may sound silly but my dog had that same thing and I used Johnsons baby body wash soap and it worked like a charm..
Just wash him once a week with that soap and it should clear up
and if he scratches his armpits too much, just put a shirt on him
Good Luck
Hope this helps
Bye

Could be fleas... Or he just has a skin allergy.

Could be from flea bites and scratching.Dont let him scratch himself and put vitamin E lotion on his skin everyday.Rub it in real good twice a day and donbt let him lick himself off. Also Oatmeal shampoo and a real good conditioner should help

What "product" did she tell you to use? What was the name? You could get some more of the same. I assume it was a fungicide? If so, any athlete's foot creme will work.
My second question would be, Are they yellowish scales and scabs? If so she most likely misdiagnosed him and he probably has a severe thyroid issue. Many times end stage thyroid disease is misdiagnosed as a fungus infection.

has mange their 3 types the vet can scrap an infected area and tell their no other way its not that much money

Does the dog have fleas? If so, it could be an infection from the fleas, in which case he'll need antibiotics.
If the dog is older, it could be due to a lack of thyroid activity, in which case, the dog would need to take thyroid medicine.
It could be skin allergies, in which case the dog would benefit from a steroid shot.
Or it could just be a bad case of hot spots... in which case the dog might benefit from a sulfadine shampooing (bought at pet store).
Or it could be mange... and that could be deadly, if not treated.
In any case, the dog needs antibiotics, as what you describe sounds as though the skin problem has become infected.
Since the vet's first diagnosis was apparently not correct, see if he would be willing to do a follow-up visit for a more accurate exam. Also, some vets will let you post-date one or more checks, to help you pay for the visit.
In my city, we also have a few clinics, called "Affordable Pet Care," and they also work with owners to pay for their pet's care.
Meanwhile, give your dog a nice oatmeal bath (Aveeno is a good one) to soothe the dog's skin. And buy some Betadine or Provodone (drugstore) to put on the sores. If the dog will let you, put hot soaks on any areas that look swollen and oozy.
Definitely get that dog back to a vet.
Good luck!

try a soap free dog wash with oatmeal and baking soda in it
the oat meal calms the skin and helps it heal and the baking soda gets rid of Any odors associated with he scratching.and it is very inexpensive go to a pet store to get it rather then the vet.

He either has an allergy or the mange. If it's an allergy don't worry. That will usually clear up in time. Try using some oatmeal based soap to bathe him with. Aveeno is a good one. But if it's the mange that's not good at all. He's going to have to be treated by a vet. If the scabs get worse and they start to bleed then it's probably mange. Just watch out for it.

dry skin problem
You probably bought him from an ordinary pet shop, right? or a kennel.
kennels and pet stores have puppies from Puppy Mills that are just naturally borned without any shots or medication for its disease or problem, and just shipped to the pet store.

Sounds like allergies or Hot Spots. Try changing food to something like Lamb and Rice. Go to your local pet store and they will have something that you can buy for skin problems, tell them exactly what is going on, if you can't afford to take your pet back to the vet right now.
